Volunteers are an important part of our library, and we are always looking for responsible and dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 13 years old and be willing to work at least two hours, one day a week. Volunteers must be able to alphabetize, organize, have a good sense of numbers, bend, and lift heavy objects. Schedule flexibility is preferred so that they can assist with programming as necessary.
We do assist in mandated community service hours, but it cannot be more than 20 hours and you must have at least two months to complete the hours. For high school kids working towards completing 100 hours of community service, they must be a freshman or sophomore.
Due to the large number of volunteer applicants, please fill out a form in the library (forms are available at the circulation desk); when there is an opportunity we will contact you for a training day. We depend on our volunteers so please make sure that you can volunteer on a fairly consistent basis.
Application forms can be found at the circulation desk.
As a volunteer you can:
- Learn new skills
- Meet new people
- Gain work experience
- Better your community
- Stay active
- Keep up with the newest programs, services & book arrivals!
