Volunteers are an important part of our library.
Due to the large number of volunteer applicants, please fill out a form in the library (forms are available at the circulation desk); when there is an opportunity we will contact you for a training day. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be completing 20 hours of service. We depend on our volunteers so please make sure that you can volunteer on a fairly consistent basis.
*Volunteering at the library comprises of shelving which requires frequent bending and general library knowledge. Application forms can be found at the circulation desk.
As a volunteer you can:
- Learn new skills
- Meet new people
- Gain work experience
- Better your community
- Stay active
- Keep up with the newest programs, services & book arrivals!
Friends of the Library
Friends groups can make the difference between a budget increase and a budget cut for their libraries. Not only that, but many libraries across the country owe their new additions or new buildings to an effective advocacy campaign waged by the Friends to ensure community support. You can make a long lasting and significant difference for your library through the Friends group.
How can I get involved?
Just attend a Friends meeting (the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the library). You can also fill out a form in the Friends binder located in the lobby of the library.
As a dues paying member your name is added to the Newsletter distribution email list which ensures your receipt of the quarterly Newsletter and occasional important notifications about activities.
