Many factors add to the quality of life in our region: gorgeous scenery, world-class arts, excellent health care, top-notch schools, and the list goes on. We are honored to be counted among them. Without question, our single highest priority is just that – to contribute to your quality of life. Whatever the service or program, whatever the age of the patrons, our intent is the same. We seek to provide experiences that will enrich, enhance and nourish the lives of those we serve. Today, we ask you to support our efforts with a tax-deductible gift to Rachel Kohl Community Library’s Enriching Lives Annual Appeal.
As we welcome visitors nearly 90,000 times a year, host hundreds of programs, and circulate close to 200,000 items, it is clear the Library is valued. While public funding provides a financial base, we rely on your donations to fund over 20% our budget, the portion that allows us to maintain and expand our diverse offering of programs and services.
Your generous contribution to the Enriching Lives Annual Appeal will benefit thousands of local residents who rely on Rachel Kohl Community Library in the following ways:
- Read, Listen, View: Rachel Kohl seeks to provide the public with a varied, up-to-date collection of reading, listening, and viewing materials in traditional and digital formats.
Future Generations: “Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open”, said First Lady Laura Bush.We believe that every child deserves the keys to the doors of learning. So we offer more than 250 free programs every year for young people, infants to teens. Nearly 7,000 children and their caregivers benefit annually. Your $200 contribution will allow us to offer one children’s program.
Lifelong Learning: In any given week, adults can experience literature, art, film, yoga, develop job skills, learn new technology and much more, all free of charge. We are here to answer your questions; in fact our Rachel Kohl librarians answered over 10,000 questions in 2016. Yes, librarians are still relevant. As writer Neil Gaiman put it “Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.” We are truly this community’s best source for information, education, culture and entertainment.
Please support one or all of these areas with your gift to the Enriching Lives Annual Appeal before year-end. Help us reach our $50,000 goal. Your donation can be made online, by mail, or in person and is completely tax deductible. Because of your generosity, we are able to offer better programs to more people, improving the quality of life in our community. It gives us the utmost pleasure to do so, and we thank you for making it possible.
