Volunteers
We are always looking for help. Our volunteers are an important part of our library. They improve our library by keeping it orderly and assisting the circulation staff.
Due to the large number of volunteer applicants, please fill out a form in the library (forms are available at the circulation desk); when there is an opportunity we will contact you for a training day. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and complete 20 hours of service. We depend on our volunteers so please make sure that you can volunteer on a consistent basis according to the schedule.
*Volunteering at the library comprises of shelving which requires frequent bending and general library knowledge. Application forms can be found at the circulation desk.

Friends of the Library

Friends groups can make the difference between a budget increase and a budget cut for their libraries. As much money as Friends raise through book sales and other activities, a 1% increase in your library’s budget can add up to tens of thousands of dollars or more depending on the size of your library’s budget. Not only that, but many libraries across the country owe their new additions or new buildings to an effective advocacy campaign waged by the Friends to ensure community support. You can make a long lasting and significant difference for your library through advocacy.
How can I get involved?
-Assist the Friends and the library with activities such as workshops and events.
-Attend special events.
-Volunteer within the library during regular hours.
-Attend Friends monthly meetings. (Meetings are posted in the Friends Newsletter.)
